Yamaha Golf Cart
The DRIVE is Yamaha’s contribution to the golf cart. The DRIVE incorporates the technology gained from their line of motorcycles, ATV’s and watercraft and put it all together for today’s golfer. This technology permits Yamaha to build a vehicle that has fewer parts and weighs less. And less weight makes it a better hill-climber.
With the DRIVE, Yamaha boasts the lowest maintenance costs in the industry. In fact, they guarantee it. This accomplished with the DRIVE’s 100% greaseless chassis. Another contributor is the bumpers that are rated for impacts up to 5 mph.
Yamaha is big on the little things. (Just like a golfer!) This cart was designed to be the same height, front and rear. The claim is that it minimizes damages when golf courses ‘corral’ the carts in the barn.
The DRIVE’s body panes are made with Thermoplastic olefin. This material lends itself to be puncture and cold-weather resistant. The body panels are also coated with an extra-durable automotive-grade polyurethane paint for further protection against the elements.
The electric version of this Yamaha golf cart is a motor that moderates downhill speed while at the same time, recharges the battery.
Yamaha Gasoline Powered Golf Cart
Yamaha is the only golf cart manufacturer who builds their own engines. The one that’s included in the DRIVE produces 11.4 horsepower with an output of 357cc’s — the largest and most powerful engine found in a golf cart today. Yamaha claims this workhorse provides 27% more power to tackle hills than other leading golf cart models. And they’ve designed it to be quiet, literally vibration free and a low emissions producer.
The engine in the gas-powered carts has been designed with a positive oil lubrication system. This means no oil pump. Which means no oil filter. Which equates to additional savings on maintenance costs.
The DRIVE chassis is now 20% lighter and 2.5 times stronger thanks to their HybriCore™ technology. Beginning with a 100% robotically welded frame, the automotive ladder-style frame undergoes an 18-step paint process. The frame is mated to a polypropylene structural floor where the battery box completely protects the batteries from any corrosion. The pedal box is also self-contained protecting them on all sides from whatever the course throws at it.
Yamaha golf carts are designed to be user-friendly, meaning providing the cart with features to accommodate actual use. Things like 4 cup holders that can hold a variety of different sized containers, center storage for our cell phones, wallets and whatever personal items we lug around the links. There’s room for 6 balls and tees plus a large storage compartment on each side of the cart. It’s made the way we actually use a golf cart.
The DRIVE is fitted with an EnduraDrive™ Transaxle with Internal Disc Brake Technology. This feature was born via the Yamaha ATV. It’s a disc brake system that’s completely enclosed. No more brake drums and shoes. The EnduraDrive has only one brake cable and designed for a maintenance free, long-life.
Yamaha’s attention to detail continues with our ‘point of contact’ with the DRIVE, namely our rear ends! The cart provides the largest and arguably, the most comfortable seat found in golf car.
The seat is made of pure, supple foam integrated with a seamless, fabric-backed vinyl cover that owes its strength to plated steel inserts. The seat is designed for comfort and durability, even when used (and abused) daily.
Yamaha pulled out all the stops with their golf carts by borrowing heavily from all the technology used in their other vehicles and adapted it to the game of golf. Some of the other features found in a Yamaha golf cart are:
• The only cart with a 360° double rain channel top to keep golfers dry.
• Lowest cost of ownership in the industry. Period.
• Maintenance-free, automotive-style suspension not found on any other golf car.
• Best front & rear bumpers in the industry because things DO happen out there.
• Rack-and-Pinion Steering that’s virtually maintenance free.
• A Greaseless Chassis with sealed bearing, automotive grade tie-rods, and permanently lubricated steering components
And many other creature-comforts built into the DRIVE to make driving – and owning – this Yamaha Golf Cart a smart and economical investment.
